Werewolves vs Vampires in the Bedroom

By The Beautiful Kind

vampire2werewolf
I was messaging with a guy on OkCupid when he mentioned that it was odd I had a lycanthrope fetish, since most women have a vampire fetish.

I asked him why he thought women were into vampires, since to me they are pale, sneaky bloodsuckers, whereas werewolves = raw animal lust. He replied:

I think women like the seduction aspect of it, the power and the mystery, and the feeling of helplessness. I know most women would never admit it, but many women like to be controlled, if only in the bedroom.

As far as the blood aspect of it goes, blood is a metaphor for something else. While in one way they are controlled by the vampire, the women provide that one thing (blood) that the vampire needs. So it's also about being desired.

I think your lycanthrope fetish is rooted in your father to the extent that you find body hair comforting, but I think you like it wild too. Vampires are reserved and slow. Beasts are ferocious and untamed.

Here's another way to think of it: Vampires are about mental seduction and Lycanthropes are about physical seduction.

Interesting! I asked him if I could turn it into a blog post, and he said sure, as long as he got credit. I asked if I should call him by his OkCupid handle, which was something like hotbeefinjection.

He said no, call him "the wonderful and deeply inciteful Clayton." So there you have it.

How about you - are you hot for vampires or werewolves?

Vampires. Though my opinion is biased since my wife and I are both into bloodplay.

An interesting question. I always think that vampires end up looking a little fem, so I think I am more of a werewolf girl.

I REALLY like both but vampires win in a contest. It is very much, for me at least, the slow seduction, the mind control they are famous for, the fact that you have something they NEED and live for...to be needed and desired on such a basic level is a powerful thing. I also love the pale skin and hairless bodies they usually have...like smooth marble. They are just as powerful as werewolves too...just with less hair and drooling, LOL.

Neither for me. AND I don't entirely agree with HBI on this one: "Vampires are about mental seduction and Lycanthropes are about physical seduction."

I like vampires, though anything magic or mythical gets me worked up. But the vampires win out. Not just for the reasons already mentioned but also for the innuendos involving vamps. The teeth, penetration, and mixture of bodily fluids just scream sex to me. That and the taboo and sadomasochism are appealing.
The History Channel had a special on vampires that explained it well. Modern vampires are sexy, beautiful, seductive, indestructible and never age. When a vampire sinks his long fangs into the pale delicate flesh of a beautiful woman, it's all about sex.
But Frued would say it stems back to my horrible fear of vampires as a child. I was deathly afraid of them, more than any other dark creature.

I don't like either. And I don't have a lot of time for know-it-all guys who profess to understand women and female desire. Since when did "most women" have a vampire fetish? Vampires go along with attention-seeking goth rubbish too much for me to find the idea even remotely arousing.

March 10th, 2009 @ 5:13PM

Manj..read some vampire romance/suspense novels and you'll get it. There are some really good ones... the Southern Vampires series(True Blood), the Dark Lover series, the Night Huntress novels, etc. Perhaps OkCupid just meant that for women who do have a paranormal, immortals type fetish that vampires are favored.

Absolutely vampires, I've had an obsession with them since I was probably 12 or 13 (I'm 25 now). I think vampires are beautiful creatures and I love the mystery behind it all. It could also be attributed to my interest in trying blood play someday not to mention the fact that I love the idea of a vampire bite because I love biting, it just brings out the raw nature of things and seems to heighten my desire for the person I'm with.

Will this be an app. on the myspace?
I'll be a Vampire. I am drawn to the sensuality, seduction and inner turmoil of the vampire.
Plus biting upon others necks... yum.

I'm a Werewolf kind of gal. I never really got into Vampires, they kind of bored me. To me vampires just seem weak where werewolves have the strong animalistic personality. And that's what I prefer in the bedroom, for someone to just throw me down and ravage my body.

March 10th, 2009 @ 7:34PM

I've always been a vampire girl, it was one of my earliest fantasies... in addition to the reasons mentioned above I think it has something to do with a certain amount of guilt over my sexuality, the vampire was always in control of me, possessing me which meant I couldn't be held responsible for the sinful things I wanted, needed.

Actually looking back a lot of my early fantasies had to do with being possessed in the horror movie sense.

Forget vampires & werewolves. I go for goblins in loosey-goosey socks.

I'm totally into vampires - I turned my boyfriend into biting my neck and shoulder area during our fun times - it turns me into a different person sexually, I love it!

I am a fan of both. I look at vampires and think of cerebral ecstasy. The idea of inviting myself into someone else's mind and treating it like a playground where everything is new and fresh. I think of the carnal delight that comes from werewolves. They use physical ability to overpower...to consume...to devour another. I enjoy both elements and consider a blending of both to be perfection.

Yeah Kenneth!!!!!

hmmm, definitely lycanthropes or as Laurell K. Hamilton portrays some of her characters were-animals, such as were-leopard...a were-cat of any kind would send me over the edge. You have the best of both worlds...somewhat vampiric and definitely beast with a mix of sheer power.

March 11th, 2009 @ 1:51AM

Never thought much of either.

Here's a paradox: if vampires are hot because they need you, why is neediness always considered a turnoff?

well my wife and I are the vampire type even though I am as hairy as a werewolf LOL. I love the vampire seduction and the nibble of body parts!! Mmm.......

Vampires you have to kill with a wooden stake in the heart. werewolves takes a silver bullet. I want a man I can just hit in the head with a bat and be done with it already.

LOL Manscape, hmmm maybe that's another reason why I never liked Vampires =D

Considering the popularity of Twilight among adolescent girls and even grown women (and how awful it is), I think it's pretty safe to say that women like vampires.

Talk about disappointing ...

I thought Kate Beckensale's movie "Underworld" was going to be about Victoria's Secret.

The werewolf is not responsible for his loss of control. The morning after he returns to his gentle self and feels remorse. Isn't that monthly cycle thing rather femme?

Okay here's the deal...imho.

There is a social/ genetic/ hormonal etc stereo type we are taught as young women growing up. Don't! Save yourself! Don't give in!!
( I hate this crap and find it serves nothing but to assuage a guilty adults own fear but I digress)

So...most young women find the "rape "fantasy very alluring....it's not our fault...we were lured...beyond our control so it just wasn't our choice to get fucked three ways to Sunday before mommy said it was okay.

I had a huge vampire fetish very young....vampire mermaids in fact- but thats' another story too.

1. You get to lose control and be over powered with mind control, super strength, magical lust and no hope of conceiving.
2.It wasn't your fault so you can't be blamed for not being responsible to save your virginity (what's that all about too...another blog), your soul, your wild lusts

3. He knows you better than you know yourself...so you can be led down the garden path of kink and mystery and delicious darkness and forbidden sexuality.
(I so loved this thrilling idea as a kid!)
(contd.)

The Velvet Lilly

4. The submissive role - even as young girls may not pick up on this - is the one with the real power.
( a collar is really a crown , etc)
Submissives are the ones who are really in charge....don't believe me? Who controls the fun and can say stop anytime they want? Safe word belongs to the sub, darlin.
So in a backwards way it teaches young women how in a small way they they have power sexually....power to drive an immortal mad with want for them.

That whole living forever thing is awfully alluring as well....think of all those centuries of gaslight and corsets they lived through....all those years of sexual experiences they can teach you mmmmm....

Werewolves are also sexy on the opposite pole.....(hmmm werewolf pole dancing?)
purely animal and physical- they get to have sex two different ways...as animal AND human. The transformation taking away - again - all human restraints, morals, ethics, laws, and taboos....(rawwrrrr)

There is also the very very sexy fantasy of "taming the beast" gentling something so wild and lustful....a beast strong enough to be weak...and how graceful and hot that is!

Now.. I understand people who say vamps are too goth....but that's not how they SHOULD be...or started out as:
The Victorian ideal...a consummate gentleman- etiquette, charm, seduction, strength of will and debonaire enough to be dangerous. Experienced with a flare of elegant dress...(not guy liner) but Goth is attracted to aesthetic...grace and line...which is highlighted in Victorian era costume, textures, colors and mood.
But Vamp doesn't = Goth or Emo or Anime or Fem.....it CAN coincide and lend itself.....but it's not locked in.

I like my Vamps manly strong and intoxicating (withOUT badly written emo hangups- if you've been alive more than a few hundred years lets hope you've worked through that silly crap, eh?)
(blood is life - the little death - orgasms so strong you pass out like you've lost too much blood yada yada - I get it)

I've rambled long enough.....that’s my two coppers.
