Strembicki’s Anatomy Project
By Kendra Holliday | November 9, 2012 at 6:05 am
I’ve been modeling for my friend Stan Strembicki for years now, and he hopes he’s still photographing me when I’m in my 60′s.
Here are some shots from his latest project. He found some ruined old medical text books in the rubble left behind by Hurricane Katrina, and has been layering them on images of nude people. He does this right in his camera – no Photoshop.
Haunting.
I love the contrast of live, vibrant flesh with decaying pages from the past. Someday, I will be that way, too…

Sweet work. What a fun project. Glad you were able to participate.
Is he local to St. Louis?

Yes, he teaches at Wash U but travels often to New Orleans, Italy, and other great locations!

That has certainly made anatomy text books a lot more interesting.

Very nice collage/overlay. Not likely to appear in a medical text, perhaps a fine art museum, however. Will he take you to Italy with him for more photo sessions? Hope springs eternal. Ciao.

Those are awesome! You’re definitely right about the contrast and haunting, yes! That was a mini genius idea for a project.
